5 Small Steps for BIG Change

We are all part of this together, so it is our responsibility to make little changes to help diminish our carbon footprint. Here is a list of 5 simple changes we can incorporate in our lives that will make a huge impact.

1. Reusable Water/ Drink Bottles

Stop using single use plastic water bottles. These are terrible for the environment but also made out of petroleum that when leeched into our water is harmful to our health. These bottles can be used for hot or cold drinks. So say no to the disposable coffee cup that is lined with plastic and very hard to recycle and ends up in a landfill. First we refuse, then we reduce!

2. Reusable Shopping Bags

Plastic bags are floating in our oceans and killing the marine life. they have now found plastic bags in the deepest trenches of the ocean, putting a stop to this will have a dramatic change. Lots of countries have banned these completely, but we need the message to get out so that more will follow.

3. Bamboo Toothbrushes

Ditch your plastic toothbrush and replace with a more sustainable one. Lots of great companies out there.

4. Reusable Metal Straws

Refuse the straw and bring your own. Save the turtles and all the other wildlife that is suffering due to single use plastic straws. Straws are made from petroleum, and then we put them in our mouths. Wars have been fought over oil, but yet we use our oil to make something that we use for 5 minutes then throw it in the trash. Metal straws are a great option, that can be used over and over again.

5. Stash some Cutlery

We all have busy lives and many times we need to eat on the go. Instead of taking and using disposable cutlery, stash away some reusable cutlery. This was you can be stylish and eco friendly.
